Advanced Driving Test with an IAM RoadSmart Examiner

Help and support from NDAM to help you to prepare for your test. This is normally through a Short Term Associate Course (STAC). We run 2 of these courses a year (8 sessions) beginning in August/September and January/February. These are on Tuesday evenings and include a short talk on aspects of advanced driving followed by a drive with an IAM RoadSmart qualified Observer sitting with you to provide friendly support and advice to help you improve your skills.

Supplementary driving practice with IAM qualified Observers to help you achieve the standards needed to pass the test over a timescale that suits your progress.

The second Tuesday of the month is the Group night with invited speakers or other events and you will have the opportunity for further drives with an Observer. 

What if I can’t attend on a Tuesday?

We have a number of Observers who can arrange observed drives at a time convenient to both of you.

As well as observed rides the motorcycle section has regular ride-outs which provide the opportunity to practice advanced riding on a social run which usually ends up with a refreshment stop.
